Tjuvholmen Sculpture Park is located on the waterfront behind the Astrup Fearnley Museum, at the far end of Tjuvholmen in Oslo. Easily accessible on foot from Aker Brygge and the city centre, the park is a natural visit for both city walkers and art enthusiasts.

  • On foot: Follow the pier edge from Aker Brygge, the footbridge over the canal takes you directly to Tjuvholmen and the sculpture park.
  • Tram: Take tram 12 to Aker Brygge and walk from there.
  • Bus: Several buses stop at Tjuvholmen, including bus lines 21, 32 (now 42) and 54. Bus 42 (formerly 32) has its terminus at Tjuvholmen, while lines 21 and 54 serve the area and run past.
  • Boat: During the summer, boat line B9 runs to Aker Brygge from several locations in the inner Oslofjord.
  • Car: There is parking in Tjuvholmen P-hus, with direct access to the museum and park via elevator and stairs.

A tradition for art

The promoters behind the parks

The housing developer Selvaag has long traditions of using art to enrich its surroundings. Over three generations, Selvaag has put out over 600 sculptures and artworks in its commercial and residential projects. The sculpture parks at Tjuvholmen and the Peer Gynt park are the result of a vision to make art accessible as a natural part of urban life. The goal is to create vibrant neighborhoods where people meet, to be inspired and experience art in everyday life, outside the walls of museums.
